Alabama ends Arkansas volleyball’s win streak in four-set match

The University of Arkansas women’s volleyball team was defeated by Alabama in four sets on Wednesday night, ending a 10-match winning streak the Razorbacks held over the Crimson Tide. The final scores were 16-25, 22-25, 25-16, and 14-25.

Freshman Parker Duncan led Arkansas with 14 kills and just two errors out of 32 attempts, resulting in a .375 hitting percentage. She also contributed 10 digs for her third career double-double. Graduate outside hitter Jada Lawson followed with nine kills—a season high—and six digs.

Setters Livia Niu and Kiki Remensperger combined for a total of 39 assists, with Niu recording 21 and Remensperger adding 18. Remensperger also led the team defensively with 16 digs, marking her thirteenth double-double this season.

Arkansas registered eight team blocks during the match. Romani Thurman had six blocks, while Zoi Evans and Journey Peppers each contributed four blocks and combined for twelve kills.

The match opened with Alabama taking an early lead in the first set, which they maintained to win 25-16. In the second set, Arkansas started strong but could not sustain momentum as Alabama closed it out at 25-22. The Razorbacks responded in the third set with a series of runs that secured them a 25-16 win. However, Alabama regained control in the fourth set after a tied start and finished with a decisive 25-14 victory to claim the match.

Looking ahead, Arkansas will host Mississippi State on Friday for Senior Night at Barnhill Arena. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. and will be available via live stream on SEC Network+.
