The Arkansas Razorbacks women’s diving team secured a 221-129 victory over North Texas at their two-day meet in Fayetteville. The team maintained momentum from Friday’s events, winning both the platform and team competitions.
Head diving coach Abel Sanchez commented on the team’s performance: “I am really excited with how the ladies did today. They dove well and consistently, which is what we’ve been working on. I feel good leading up to SECs, which are in a few weeks, and I’m excited to see what happens at the show.”
Sophomore Majo Sanchez of Mexico City set a new program record in the 10-meter platform event, surpassing the previous mark of 297.98 with a score of 341.30.
Coach Abel Sanchez praised her accomplishment: “What can I say about Majo, she dove out of her mind today on platform. Anytime someone breaks a pool record, it’s a great feat. Now we need to buckle down and really focus on entries as our hurdles are getting better and the tops are getting stronger.”
The Razorbacks will compete next at the SEC Championships beginning February 17 in Knoxville, Tennessee.
