ARKANSAS: Enrollment Open for Final Summer Session of Self-Paced Online Courses
0Comments

Arkansas issued the following announcement on June 1.

The U of A Global Campus is now accepting requests for enrollment in Self-Paced Online courses for the final summer session, which begins Friday, July 1, and ends Tuesday, Sept. 20. The deadline to submit a request for enrollment for the summer session is Thursday, June 16.

Students can go to the U of A ONLINE website for self-paced online courses and click the link to the enrollment request form. Colleges and schools at the U of A offer college credit through self-paced online courses, which range from children’s literature to macroeconomics.

Self-paced courses offer the most flexibility of any university credit course, while meeting the same academic standards as face-to-face or traditional online courses. Self-paced courses allow students to set their own learning tempos, rather than following structured learning environments led by faculty or instructors. Students are not required to be formally admitted to the university to take self-paced courses, but students should consult with an academic adviser regarding course selection to ensure courses will count toward their degree requirements.

Students should be aware that self-paced courses require a high degree of self-discipline and most require proctored exams. Enrollment sessions are approximately 12 weeks in length, and students who have submitted work in a self-paced course and do not drop the course by the deadline must be assigned a final grade of A, B, C, D or F, which will appear on their U of A transcripts.

Submitting a request for enrollment in a self-paced course does not guarantee successful enrollment in the requested course. Students can contact the office of credit studies at ilearn@uark.edu or 479-575-3647 for enrollment assistance.

For detailed information, read the policy document for self-paced online courses.

The Global Campus supports colleges and schools in the development and delivery of distance education offerings, including degree programs that are completely or primarily online.
