No. 6 Arkansas suffered its first Southeastern Conference loss of the season, falling 1-0 to No. 22 Georgia on Friday night in Athens. The only goal of the match came in the 53rd minute when Georgia forward Mya Townes scored with a left-footed shot from outside the penalty area.
Arkansas had limited opportunities to respond. The team’s closest attempt was in the 68th minute, when sophomore Kyndal Ewertz’s shot struck the top of the crossbar. Over the course of the match, Arkansas managed seven shots, with only one on target.
Despite this setback, Arkansas remains at the top of the SEC standings with 16 points. The Razorbacks are tied with Tennessee and have three games remaining in conference play.
Arkansas will next face Alabama at home on Thursday, October 16. The match is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Razorback Field and will be available for streaming on SECN+.
