Arkansas Athletics will introduce a new field rush policy for the 2025 season to comply with updated Southeastern Conference (SEC) regulations. The change aims to address safety concerns and adhere to league rules regarding post-game celebrations.

After significant victories, a three-minute timer will be displayed on videoboards at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium. This delay is designed to give the visiting team, staff, and officials time to leave the field before fans are permitted onto the playing surface to celebrate with Arkansas players.

The SEC’s revised policy imposes a $500,000 fine for each field rushing incident across all sports. During conference games, these fines are awarded to the visiting institution; for non-conference events, the money goes to the league office.

“The safety of our student-athletes and the student-athletes from the visiting institution is extremely important to all of us,” said Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Hunter Yurachek. “By implementing this new policy we are allowing the visiting team to clear the field so our fans can safely join our team on the field to celebrate the big win. We look forward to our fans and students complying with this policy the first time we get to implement it so we can all enjoy a huge win.”

The Razorbacks begin Head Coach Sam Pittman’s sixth season on August 30 against Alabama A&M at 3:15 p.m., broadcast on SEC Network. The schedule includes a first-ever home matchup with Notre Dame on September 27 at 11 a.m. on ABC, followed by home games against Texas A&M on October 18—the Aggies’ first visit since 2013—Auburn on October 25, Mississippi State for homecoming November 1, and concludes with Missouri in the Battle Line Rivalry November 29.
