No. 1 ranked Arkansas has secured 17 entries for the upcoming NCAA Indoor Championships, which will be held March 13-14 at the Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville. This is the fifth year in a row that Arkansas leads all schools in number of qualifiers.
Tickets for the event are available through Arkansas Razorback tickets, with options for both two-day and single-day purchases.
After recent conference championships, Arkansas remains at the top of the national rankings for a third consecutive week. The rest of the current top ten includes Oregon, Tennessee, Florida, Kansas State, Oklahoma, Penn State, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, and Virginia.
Among these teams, Arkansas (SEC), Oregon (Big 10), and Texas Tech (Big 12) won their respective conference titles. Kansas State (Big 12) and Penn State (Big 10) finished as runners-up while Texas A&M (SEC) and Virginia (ACC) placed third.
Arkansas’s total of 17 entries is its third highest over the past twelve years. In 2013, under then-head coach Chris Bucknam, Arkansas had a high of 19 entries and won its first NCAA team title during his tenure. The program recorded its second-best total with 18 entries in 2021.
Oregon follows Arkansas with 15 entries; Penn State has ten. Florida, Kansas State, and Texas A&M each have nine entries. BYU and Texas Tech have seven apiece.
The Razorbacks’ qualifiers span eleven events—more than any other school—including three athletes in the 60m hurdles and two each in the 60m dash, 200m dash, 400m dash, and 800m run. Additional individual qualifiers include competitors in the 3,000m run, 5,000m run, high jump, and triple jump.
Arkansas is also the only men’s program to qualify both a 4 x 400m relay team and a distance medley relay team this year. This marks sixteen straight years that Arkansas has qualified a men’s team for the NCAA Indoor Championships’ 4 x 400m relay event; it is also their seventh time qualifying both relays within eight years.
Texas A&M has qualified athletes in nine events; Florida has eight; Tennessee and Oregon follow with seven each.
