Arkansas will face Arkansas State for the first time in program history at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock on Saturday, September 6. The game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN+/SEC Network+.
Last week, Arkansas secured a decisive win over Alabama A&M at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium. Quarterback Taylen Green led the offense by completing 24 of 31 passes for 322 yards and six touchdowns, setting a personal record and tying for the second most passing touchdowns in a single game in program history. He joined Brandon Allen (2015) as the only Arkansas quarterbacks to throw for six or more touchdowns in one game.
The team tied a school record with seven passing touchdowns during its 52-7 victory over Alabama A&M, matching the mark set against Mississippi State on November 21, 2015. Six different players caught touchdown passes, setting another program record.
Wide receiver O’Mega Blake contributed seven catches for 121 yards, recording his fourth career game with more than 100 receiving yards. He became the first Arkansas wide receiver to surpass 100 yards in a season opener since Treylon Burks did so against Georgia in September 2020.
Arkansas has an all-time record of 153-62-4 at War Memorial Stadium, which has served as its home venue in Central Arkansas since 1948. Under head coach Sam Pittman, who is entering his 63rd game as head coach this weekend, the Razorbacks are undefeated (3-0) at this stadium with notable wins over UAPB and Western Carolina.
Running back Mike Washington Jr., a transfer from New Mexico State, rushed for a team-high 79 yards on nine carries and caught two passes for another 36 yards and a touchdown last week. Over his collegiate career, he has accumulated nearly two thousand rushing yards along with eighteen rushing touchdowns.
Of Pittman’s first sixty-three games as head coach at Arkansas, fifty-one have come against SEC opponents or other Power Four teams or teams ranked in the AP Top 25.
Green’s performance marked his fifth career game surpassing three hundred passing yards; he is also the first Arkansas quarterback since 2019 to throw for three hundred yards in consecutive games.
The Razorbacks have converted one hundred eighty-six consecutive extra-point attempts dating back to December of 2020—the third-longest active streak nationally behind Northwestern and Texas A&M.
Wide receiver Raylen Sharpe currently holds a thirty-game reception streak, tied for fourth-longest among all FBS players and leading all current Razorbacks players.
Defensive lineman Cam Ball registered his ninth career tackle for loss along with a quarterback hurry during last week’s win over Alabama A&M after being named preseason All-SEC.
