Four Arkansas Razorbacks alumni earned medals on the third day of the USATF Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene. Nikki Hiltz won gold in the 1,500 meters, posting a time of 4:03.15 to secure their third consecutive USATF Outdoor title in this event. Hiltz finished ahead of Sinclaire Johnson and Emily Mackey.
In the final 300 meters, Hiltz ran a split of 43.22 seconds, overtaking competitors to defend the title. Over the last 400 meters, Hiltz clocked 58.67 seconds.
Hunter Woodhall added another gold for Arkansas alumni by winning the T62 400 meters with a time of 45.79 seconds. Woodhall had previously won the 100 meters and has now qualified for the World Para Championships in New Delhi, India, in both events.
Isabella Whittaker took silver in the women’s 400 meters with a time of 49.59 seconds. Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone won gold while Aaliyah Butler placed third.
The women’s 400-meter final also featured Britton Wilson (sixth place), Rosey Effiong (eighth place), and Alexis Holmes (fifth place), who trains in Fayetteville.
Chris Bailey earned silver in the men’s 400 meters with a time of 44.43 seconds, improving from his bronze medal finish at the Olympic Trials earlier this year. Jacory Patterson took first place while Khaleb McRae was third.
Krissy Gear finished fourth in the women’s 3,000-meter steeplechase with a personal best time but missed out on a podium spot by less than half a second behind Kaylee Mitchell. Logan Jolly placed eleventh.
Dalilah Muhammad and Anna Cockrell, both training in Fayetteville, advanced through the first round of the women’s 400-meter hurdles by placing first and second respectively.
Destiny Huven reached the final of the women’s 100-meter hurdles after running a semifinal time of 12.75 seconds; she finished eighth overall.
