Arkansas Razorbacks women’s volleyball team will travel to Norman, Oklahoma on Wednesday for a Southeastern Conference (SEC) match against the Oklahoma Sooners. This will be the first meeting between the two teams this season, though Arkansas previously observed Oklahoma at the Wooo Pig Invitational in early September. During that tournament, the Sooners lost to Tulsa 3-1 and defeated Cal Poly 3-1.

Oklahoma enters the match with a 12-8 overall record and is ranked 10th in the SEC during its second year in the conference. The team holds a 4-6 conference record, including a recent reverse sweep win over No. 21 Missouri on October 25 in Columbia.

Defensively, Oklahoma ranks fifth in blocking within the SEC, averaging 2.54 blocks per set. Junior middle blocker KJ Burgess leads this effort with an average of 1.27 blocks per set, which places her fifth among all SEC players. Burgess also has a .444 hitting percentage, making her first in the SEC and among the top five nationally.

In serving, Oklahoma is also strong with an average of 1.58 aces per set—placing them among the top five teams in that category within the conference. Senior Emoni Bush contributes significantly by averaging 0.33 aces per set, tying her for eighth place in the SEC.

The Razorbacks are seeking their second SEC victory after opening conference play with a five-set win over Ole Miss on September 26. Since then, Arkansas has won only one set out of sixteen played on the road during conference matches and has yet to secure an away victory this season.

Wednesday’s match will begin at 6 p.m. and will be broadcast live on SEC Network.
