The Arkansas Razorbacks lost to the Florida Gators, 12-6, during the second game of their three-game softball series on March 28 at Bogle Park. The matchup featured a combined total of 21 hits between the two nationally ranked teams.

The loss brings both teams to an even record in the series, with Arkansas now holding a season record of 29-5 and Florida at 33-3. The result sets up a decisive third game for the series.

Arkansas took an early lead with Brinli Bain’s solo home run in the first inning before Florida responded by scoring seven runs over four innings. Despite trailing by six runs, Arkansas narrowed the gap with a four-run fifth inning and another solo home run from Atalyia Rijo in the sixth to make it a one-run game. However, Florida added five more runs in the seventh inning to secure their victory.

Bain led Arkansas offensively with two hits and two walks while Dakota Kennedy contributed two runs batted in. Payton Burnham started for Arkansas but was charged with the loss after allowing four runs over several innings pitched. Katelynn Oxley earned the win for Florida and Keegan Rothrock picked up her third save of the season.

Notable achievements included Bain’s third home run this year and Rijo’s ninth multi-hit performance along with her fifth homer of the season. Reagan Johnson made her 196th start as leadoff hitter—second most in program history—and attendance reached 3,718 fans, marking it as one of Bogle Park’s largest crowds ever.

The final game between Arkansas and Florida is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon at Bogle Park and will be streamed live on SEC Network+.
