The Arkansas Razorbacks women’s gymnastics team, currently ranked No. 8 nationally, will host the Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) Redhawks in a meet at Bud Walton Arena on Friday afternoon. The event is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
Arkansas and SEMO have faced each other seven times since 2004, with Arkansas winning all previous matchups. Six of those contests have taken place in Fayetteville.
SEMO has competed twice this season and recently achieved a team high score of 193.350 at the Windy City Invite, where they finished ahead of three other teams. The Redhawks are ranked highest on the balance beam at No. 34 nationally, averaging a score of 48.663 in that event.
Last Sunday, Arkansas secured its first victory of the season at home by defeating No. 11 Auburn Tigers with a score of 197.250-196.075. The Gymbacks outperformed Auburn in every event and claimed first place individually on vault, bars, beam, and all-around categories.
Redshirt junior Lauren Williams tied the program record on vault with a score of 9.975 and is currently ranked No. 1 nationally in that event. Williams was named SEC Specialist of the Week following her performance.
Admission to Friday’s meet is free for all attendees. Fans who have tickets but are unable to attend can contact the Ticket Center at 479-575-5151 to exchange their tickets for another meet later in the season.
Parking will be available in Lots 320-322 near Bud Walton Arena, with only the south entrance accessible via Nolan Richardson Drive for this event. Doors open at 11:45 a.m., team introductions are set for 12:45 p.m., and competition begins at 1:00 p.m.
