The Arkansas Razorbacks women’s soccer team maintained their unbeaten record in Southeastern Conference (SEC) play with a 4-1 victory over Ole Miss on Friday at Razorback Field. The win brings the Razorbacks to a 6-2-2 overall record and 4-0-0 in conference matches.
Junior Bella Field returned to action after recovering from a broken nose and scored two goals, including one in the 82nd minute. Her first goal, along with scores from Ainsley Erzen and Makenzie Malham, marked the first time each player has found the net this season.
Ole Miss managed their only goal from a penalty kick with ten seconds remaining in the match. Arkansas outshot Ole Miss 16-5, forcing Rebels goalkeeper Sidney O’billovich to make seven saves. The Razorbacks also matched their season high with ten corner kicks.
Makenzie Malham scored Arkansas’ second goal from a corner kick this year, assisted by junior Avery Wren for her first assist of the season. Vailana Tu’ua contributed an assist on Field’s second goal and has recorded at least one point in every SEC match so far this year.
Arkansas continues its strong run against Ole Miss, now holding an 8-0-1 record since the 2018 SEC Tournament and outscoring them 28-4 during that span. The team remains at the top of the SEC standings with twelve points after four matches, marking the third consecutive season they have started league play with four straight wins.
Next, Arkansas will travel to face No. 12 South Carolina on Thursday, October 2, with kickoff scheduled for 6 p.m. Central Time. The match will be broadcast live on ESPNU.
