The Arkansas Razorbacks women’s swimming and diving team will travel to Springfield, Missouri, to compete against Drury University on Friday, October 3.
The two teams have a long-standing rivalry that began in the 1989-90 season. Over the course of 26 meetings, Arkansas has won 23 times, including a current streak of 17 consecutive victories over Drury. In their most recent encounter last fall, Arkansas secured a win with a score of 140-95.
Last year’s meet saw sophomore Majo Sanchez take first place in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events. Senior Delaney Harrison finished first in the 200 butterfly, while sophomore Ashley Morton won the 200 backstroke.
Head coach Neil Harper commented on the upcoming meet: “We always want to compete against Drury, they are one of the best DII programs in the country,” Harper said. “They are well-coached and always have swimmers and divers that can challenge us. We are really looking forward to competing there with our young team.”
