The Arkansas Razorbacks softball team extended their winning streak to 14 games after securing run-rule victories over Boise State and Charlotte. The team, ranked No. 7/8 nationally, improved their season record to 16-1 with these wins.
Twelve of the team’s 16 victories this season have come by run-rule. The current 14-game streak matches the second-longest in program history, tying a similar run from last year and trailing only a 19-game streak set in 2019.
Karlie Davison played a key role in both games, finishing the day with five hits in as many at-bats, including a home run, six runs batted in (RBI), three runs scored, a double, and a stolen base. Her two-run homer ended the game against Boise State via run rule. Davison has now reached base in 13 consecutive games and has a seven-game hitting streak.
Freshman Brinli Bain contributed with three hits over six at-bats across both games, including two doubles and two RBI. She has reached base safely in all 17 games of her collegiate career so far—a first for an Arkansas freshman since at least 2011.
Against Charlotte, Tianna Bell hit a grand slam while also drawing two walks and scoring three times.
Pitcher Cam Harrison earned her third win of the season by allowing just one hit—a solo home run—in an abbreviated complete game against Boise State. She struck out seven batters and walked one. Payton Burnham picked up her fourth win against Charlotte after pitching four innings with two strikeouts while giving up two runs on seven hits and two walks. Lillie-Faye McWhorter closed out that game by pitching the final inning.
Arkansas’ victories over Boise State and Charlotte were their first-ever meetings with each school; they now lead both series 1-0.
Reagan Johnson recorded additional career milestones during these games, bringing her total career hits to 243—just 19 shy of breaking Hannah McEwen’s all-time Arkansas record of 261 hits.
Arkansas will continue play in the Wooo Pig Classic tomorrow with scheduled matchups against Omaha and another game versus Charlotte. Both contests will be broadcast on SEC Network+.
