The Arkansas Razorbacks women’s track and field team recorded a world-leading 4 x 400 meter relay time of 3 minutes, 22.06 seconds at the Clyde Hart Classic, according to a March 28 announcement. This performance ranks as the fifth-best on the collegiate all-time outdoor list.

The result is significant because it highlights Arkansas’s continued dominance in collegiate relay events and their ability to compete against professional squads. The Razorbacks’ relay squad—Sanaria Butler, Analisse Batista, Kaylyn Brown, and Sanu Jallow-Lockhart—not only broke the facility record but also defeated Captain Athletics, a professional team that trains in Fayetteville.

The previous facility record of 3:25.08 was set by Hurdle Mechanic in April 2022 with a lineup including Olympic medalist Dalilah Muhammad. After strong performances from Butler and Batista on the first two legs (1:42.24 split), Brown ran an impressive third leg with a split of 49.73 seconds before Jallow-Lockhart anchored with a time of 50.09 seconds for victory.

Brown has now participated in each of Arkansas’s three fastest outdoor relays, anchoring the collegiate record run with a split of 49.04 seconds and contributing strong legs to other top times for the program.

Other notable performances included another Razorback quartet winning their section in the relay (3:30.72), Jallow-Lockhart setting a Gambian national record in the open 400 meters (51.21), Makenna Herbst winning the women’s 800 meters (2:04.22) to enter Arkansas’s all-time top ten list, Simone Ballard taking first place in the women’s hurdles (13.28), Maria Arboleda securing her second consecutive high jump win outdoors (5-8¾/1.85m), and alum Taliyah Brooks claiming victory in long jump with her final attempt reaching over twenty-one feet.

With these results early in the outdoor season—coming off their indoor world-leading status—the Razorbacks have established themselves as contenders for more records as competition continues.
