The Arkansas Razorbacks women’s soccer team, ranked sixth nationally, played to a 2-2 draw against No. 2 Notre Dame at Razorback Field on August 17. The match was attended by 2,947 fans, marking the seventh-largest crowd in the venue’s history.

Arkansas opened the scoring just six minutes into the game when junior midfielder Kennedy Ball intercepted a back pass intended for Notre Dame goalkeeper Sonoma Kasica and converted it into a goal. Notre Dame responded and took the lead as the match progressed.

With less than ten minutes remaining, Arkansas earned a penalty kick after Notre Dame committed a handball in the box following a cross from Ball. Prior to delivering the cross, Ball managed to nutmeg two defenders near the corner. After a replay review confirmed the penalty, midfielder Zoe Susi scored by sending her shot into the upper left corner of the net while Kasica dove right.

Both teams had opportunities in the final minutes but were unable to break the deadlock. This is the second consecutive meeting between these teams that has ended with a 2-2 scoreline.

Notre Dame finished with slight advantages in shots (12-11), shots on target (7-6), and corner kicks (6-5). Both sides recorded four saves each.

Arkansas will next play at Georgia Southern on Sunday, August 24.
