Arkansas volleyball defeats Kennesaw State in season opener; Jason Watson earns milestone win

Arkansas volleyball began its 2025 season with a four-set win over Kennesaw State on Saturday. The Razorbacks took the match 25-19, 25-17, 23-25, and 25-19.

The team posted a .387 hitting percentage. Freshman Parker Duncan led Arkansas with 17 kills, a .366 hitting percentage, and three service aces. Lakin Laurendine and Romani Thurman each contributed 12 kills and one ace, both hitting above .300.

Sophomore transfer setter Kiki Remensperger recorded a double-double with 43 assists and 13 digs. Redshirt sophomore libero Gaby Cornier, who transferred from Florida, had a team-high 23 digs along with three service aces.

In the middle positions, Journey Peppers made her collegiate debut with five kills on six swings (.833) and one block. Zoi Evans led Arkansas in blocks with three and added six kills.

The victory marked head coach Jason Watson’s 150th win at Arkansas and his 350th career win overall. He now holds a record of 150-114 at Arkansas and an overall mark of 350-262.
