Arkansas women’s tennis starts season with four straight wins

Arkansas women’s tennis team has opened its season with a 4-0 record, marking the program’s best start since 2021.

In their first match, Arkansas secured an early lead by winning two out of three doubles matches. Carolina Gomez and Anet Koskel defeated Ava Goodell and Cecilia Franzin 6-1, while Jimena Gomez-Alonso and Brooke Schafer overcame Miranda Noor and Cassie Cervantes with the same score.

The Razorbacks then won three singles matches to secure a 4-0 victory. Anet Koskel beat Cassie Cervantes 6-2, 6-0; Brooke Schafer defeated Cecilia Franzin 6-2, 6-1; and Jimena Gomez Alonso won against Natalie Perez 6-0, 6-1.

After a break, Arkansas returned to take two of three doubles matches again. Katarina Pavlechova and Alexandra Panagiotidou won over Annalise Deer and Natalie Perez 6-0. Jimena Gomez-Alonso and Brooke Schafer also won their match against Miranda Noor and Milana Bozhko 6-0.

In singles play, Alexandra Panagiotidou defeated Annalise Deer 6-0, 6-1; Katarina Pavlechova beat Cassie Cervantes 6-0, 6-1; and Anet Koskel closed out the match by overcoming Natalie Perez 6-2, 6-1.
