Arkansas redshirt junior offensive lineman Caden Kitler has been named to the Rimington Trophy Preseason Watch List, according to an announcement from the Boomer Esiason Foundation.
The Rimington Trophy is given each year to the top center in NCAA Division I College Football. Since it began in 2000, the award has helped raise more than $5 million for the Boomer Esiason Foundation.
Kitler joined Arkansas after playing three seasons at UCF, where he appeared in 17 games and started 13 times. In 2024, he started all 11 games for UCF and contributed to an offense that averaged 447.8 yards per game. The team averaged 248.1 rushing yards per game and had four games with over 500 total yards of offense during his time as a starter. Pro Football Focus gave Kitler a pass-blocking grade of 79.1.
Dave Rimington, for whom the trophy is named, was a consensus first-team All-America center at Nebraska in both 1981 and 1982 and remains the only two-time winner of the John Outland Trophy as college football’s top interior lineman.
The Rimington Trophy is part of the National College Football Awards Association (NCFAA), which was established in 1997 and now includes some of college football’s most recognized awards.
Head Coach Sam Pittman said preseason practice began last week with Arkansas holding its first of 25 sessions ahead of the season opener. The Razorbacks are set to start their season on Saturday, August 30, facing Alabama A&M at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium at 3:15 p.m., with coverage on SEC Network.
