Arkansas defensive lineman Cam Ball has been named to the watch list for the 2025 Allstate Wuerffel Trophy, according to an announcement from the Wuerffel Foundation.
The Allstate Wuerffel Trophy is recognized as college football’s leading award for community service. It honors student-athletes who use their positions to serve others and foster positive change. The trophy is named after Danny Wuerffel, the 1996 Heisman Trophy winner and former University of Florida quarterback, who dedicated his post-football career to service work. This year marks the 21st anniversary of the award.
This is the second year in a row that Ball has appeared on the watch list. During his time at Arkansas, he has participated in several community service activities and hosts an annual football camp in his hometown for youth in the Atlanta metro area.
Ball has played in 39 games with 20 starts for Arkansas. In 2024, he started all 13 games as a redshirt junior and recorded a personal best of 47 tackles, including four tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks. He also had two quarterback hurries and one fumble recovery that season. Notable performances include five tackles and a quarterback hurry during Arkansas’ Liberty Bowl win over Texas Tech on December 27, as well as a career-high seven tackles against Missouri on November 30. Ball contributed with a fumble recovery, three tackles, and an assisted sack during Arkansas’ victory at Mississippi State on October 26.
Finalists and the recipient of the 2025 Allstate Wuerffel Trophy will be chosen by a national voting committee with input from fans. The winner will also serve as Captain of the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team and will be announced live during The Home Depot College Football Awards show on December 12 on ESPN. The trophy presentation gala is scheduled for January 31, 2026, at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta.
Arkansas begins fall camp today with its first practice set for Friday morning. The Razorbacks open their season against Alabama A&M at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium on August 30 at 3:15 p.m., with coverage on SEC Network.
