Arkansas defensive lineman Cameron Ball has been named to the watch list for the 2025 Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year Award, according to an announcement from Jason Witten’s SCORE Foundation. Ball is among 67 Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) players on the list and is one of 14 athletes representing the Southeastern Conference.
The Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year Award, presented by Albertsons and Tom Thumb, recognizes leadership in college football players both on and off the field. The award is associated with former NFL tight end Jason Witten, who was known for his leadership during his 16-year professional career and received several community service honors, including the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award in 2012.
This is Ball’s second consecutive year appearing on the watch list. During his time at Arkansas, he has participated in more than 100 community service events and hosted a football camp in his hometown near Atlanta to support local youth.
Ball has played in 44 games with 25 starts for Arkansas. As a redshirt senior this season, he has recorded 10 tackles, including 1.5 tackles for loss. Last season as a redshirt junior, he started all 13 games and posted a career-high 47 tackles along with four tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks. He also contributed two quarterback hurries and recovered a fumble. In postseason play, Ball made five tackles and had a quarterback hurry during Arkansas’ Liberty Bowl victory over Texas Tech on December 27. He achieved a career-high seven tackles in the regular-season finale against Missouri on November 30.
The selection process for the award will continue with twenty semifinalists being announced by members of the Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year Selection Committee on October 14. Three finalists will be revealed on December 15, with the winner named at an award ceremony at The Star in Frisco, Texas, scheduled for April 16, 2026.
Arkansas is currently observing its bye week before returning to play against Tennessee Volunteers in Knoxville on October 11 at 3:15 p.m., which will be broadcasted on SEC Network.
