Carolina Gomez wins opening singles match at ITA All-American Championships

Members of the Arkansas women’s tennis team are competing at the ITA All-American Championships this week at Cary Tennis Park in Cary, North Carolina.

In singles play, No. 78 Carolina Gomez won her round of 64 main draw match against No. 83 Esha Velaga from the University of Pennsylvania with scores of 6-4, 3-6, 6-4.

In doubles competition during the round of 32, Anet Koskel and Gomez played Annabelle Xu and Martina Genis Salas from the University of Virginia but lost the match, 4-6, 4-6.

The main draw matches will continue through Sunday, September 28. Results can be found on the tournament website, and matches are available for viewing via live stream on the PlaySight website.
