Darius Acuff Jr. has been named to the first team All-American by College Hoops Today with Jon Rothstein, according to an announcement made on March 4, 2026.
The first team also includes Cameron Boozer from Duke, who was selected as National Player of the Year, along with JT Toppin (Texas Tech), Yaxel Lendeborg (Michigan), and AJ Dybantsa (BYU). Other Southeastern Conference players recognized were Thomas Haugh from Florida on the second team and Labaron Philon from Alabama on the third team.
Acuff stands out as the only player in the country averaging at least 20 points (22.0) and six assists (6.2) per game this season. He is shooting 49 percent from the field and 42.1 percent from three-point range.
He is on track to become just the second player ever to lead the SEC in both scoring and assists for a season, following Pete Maravich’s achievement in 1969-70. Additionally, Acuff could be the first recorded player to lead the league in both categories—scoring (24.6) and assists (6.3)—in conference games only since complete SEC stats for league games have been kept starting with the 1990-91 season.
