Mia Johnson, an infielder and utility player from Archer High School in Lawrenceville, Georgia, has signed with the Arkansas Razorbacks women’s softball team. Johnson is recognized as a four-star recruit by Softball America and holds the career home run record at Archer High School.

During her high school career, Johnson was named to the first-team all-region and all-county lists three times each. She helped lead the Archer Tigers to two GHSA Sweet 16 appearances and one Elite Eight appearance. In her senior year, she contributed to a 24-6 overall record for her team, including a 17-1 mark in regional play. Heading into the state playoffs as a senior, she batted .689 with 12 doubles, six home runs, and 37 RBIs.

As a junior, Johnson posted a .671 batting average with 49 hits, 17 doubles, 12 home runs, 61 RBIs, and 30 walks. Her on-base percentage was .769 with a slugging percentage of 1.397 and an OPS of 2.166. She received several honors in 2024: Region Player of the Year (4-AAAAAA), Gwinnett County Offensive Player of the Year, and State Player of the Year (6A) by the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association. She also earned recognition as a PGF All-American and GHSA Player of the Year for Class 6A.

Johnson played travel ball for Georgia Impact Taylor and helped her team reach top finishes at national tournaments such as the PGF Championship and others. Before joining Impact Taylor, she led Atlanta Vipers 08 to a runner-up finish at the PGF National Championship in 2023.

Coach Courtney Deifel commented on Johnson’s addition to the program: “We are pumped to bring Mia Johnson into the 2026 Class. Coming in from Archer (GA), Mia plays with quiet confidence and delivers when it counts, and we believe her bat and attitude will make an immediate difference in our lineup. Mia fits our culture of doing the work, staying composed, and elevating the standard every day.”

Johnson explained her decision to join Arkansas: “Arkansas felt like home to me. The coaches and players were so welcoming. The University of Arkansas instills a strong support system for its athletes. The continuous belief in my future expressed by the coaches really made it an easy decision.”

She is the daughter of Mario and Shina Johnson.
