Arkansas Razorbacks women’s volleyball team lost in straight sets to the Missouri Tigers during their first Southeastern Conference (SEC) road match of the season. The final scores were 11-25, 20-25, and 17-25.
Lakin Laurendine led Arkansas with 13 kills and a .286 hitting percentage. Libero Kylie Weeks recorded a team-high 11 digs. Sophomore setter Kiki Remensperger contributed 28 assists and nine digs, narrowly missing a double-double performance.
This was only the second time this season that Arkansas has been defeated in straight sets. Their overall record now stands at 5-9, with a conference record of 1-2.
In the opening set, Arkansas scored first but quickly fell behind as Missouri went on an early run to lead 8-1. The Tigers maintained control throughout the set and won it decisively, 25-11.
The second set saw more resistance from Arkansas, who used a short run to take an early lead. However, Missouri responded by tying the score several times before eventually taking control after the media timeout and securing the set 25-20.
During the third set, Arkansas capitalized on early errors by Missouri for a brief advantage but could not sustain momentum as Missouri rallied with an extended run. Despite efforts to close the gap, Arkansas ultimately lost the set 25-17, resulting in a sweep for Missouri.
Arkansas will continue its SEC road trip with its first-ever match against Vanderbilt in Nashville on Sunday, October 5 at noon. The game will be available for streaming on SEC Network+.
