The Arkansas Razorbacks women’s volleyball team was defeated by the Wichita State Shockers in a five-set match on Sunday, with set scores of 18-25, 25-13, 19-25, 25-21, and 6-15.

The match featured alternating set victories for each team. Wichita State led in hitting percentage, recording .261 compared to Arkansas’ .220. However, Arkansas held an advantage in blocks with 11 to Wichita State’s nine.

Freshman outside hitter Parker Duncan registered 20 kills, surpassing her performance from Saturday and marking the highest total by an Arkansas freshman since September 2024. Junior opposite Romani Thurman added 19 kills on 46 attempts with a .413 hitting percentage and did not record a hitting error until the third set.

Thurman also led the team in blocks with seven. Middles Journey Peppers and Zoi Evans each contributed four blocks to the team’s total.

Libero Gaby Cornier recorded 19 digs and two aces, while defensive specialist Kylie Weeks had 10 digs and two aces. Sophomore setter Kiki Remensperger posted her second double-double of the season with 47 assists and 12 digs.

Arkansas controlled much of the first set before Wichita State went on a significant run to take it 25-18. The Razorbacks responded by winning the second set decisively, fueled by a service run from Remensperger that helped put them ahead early. After splitting sets three and four, Wichita State secured the final set with a strong run after an early tie at two points apiece.

Looking ahead, Arkansas will host the Wooo Pig Invitational at Barnhill Arena from September 4 to September 6. The Razorbacks are scheduled to play Cal Poly on Friday, September 5 at 7 p.m., followed by Tulsa on Saturday, September 6 at 7 p.m. Both single and season tickets remain available for purchase. Matches will be streamed live via SEC Network+.
