The Arkansas Razorbacks women’s volleyball team will travel to Boulder, Colorado, this weekend to participate in the Buffs Invitational. This marks the team’s second consecutive away non-conference tournament.

Arkansas is scheduled to play three matches over the weekend, beginning with a game against host Colorado on Friday at 7 p.m. Colorado currently holds a 6-0 record this season and has lost only two sets across those matches. The Buffaloes’ wins include a sweep of Tulsa, a team that recently defeated Arkansas in the Wooo Pig Invitational finale. The Razorbacks and Buffaloes have played once before, with Arkansas winning 3-0 in 2022.

On Saturday at 4 p.m., Arkansas will face Denver for just the second time in program history. The first meeting resulted in a loss for Arkansas in 2008. Denver enters the tournament with a 4-1 record, having lost only their season opener against then-No. 21 USC.

The final match for Arkansas at the Buffs Invitational will be against Toledo on Sunday at noon. This is also their second-ever meeting; Arkansas previously won a five-set match against Toledo in 2003. Under new head coach Brian Wright, Toledo is currently 5-1 and recently suffered its first loss of the season in a five-set match against UIC.

The Razorbacks are seeking their first win since defeating Kennesaw State in their season opener. Of their four losses so far, two were decided in five sets. The current roster features one of the youngest lineups for Arkansas in recent years, with three to four underclassmen regularly starting and two true freshmen seeing significant playing time—the most since the 2019 season.

All matches involving Arkansas during the Buffs Invitational will be available for streaming on ESPN+.

Statistical comparisons show that Colorado leads with a .297 hitting percentage and averages 13.70 kills per set while holding opponents to a .136 hitting percentage. Denver has posted a .277 hitting percentage and averages 12.47 kills per set, limiting opponents to .169 hitting percentage. Toledo records a .267 hitting percentage and leads all teams with an average of 3.05 aces per set while holding opponents to .117 hitting percentage. Arkansas currently holds a .214 hitting percentage and averages 12.05 kills per set but allows opponents an average hitting percentage of .244.
