Arkansas senior pitcher Robyn Herron was named the Southeastern Conference Pitcher of the Week for her performance during last weekend’s sweep of Auburn, according to an April 7 announcement from the league office.
Herron’s recognition comes after she played a key role in Arkansas’s three-game winning streak against Auburn. Her achievements highlight her impact on the team and reflect her ongoing success as a leading pitcher in collegiate softball.
During the series, Herron recorded both a win and a save, maintaining a 0.00 earned run average across eight innings. She struck out ten batters, allowed only three hits and four walks, and held opposing hitters to a .115 batting average. In Saturday’s game, which marked her 49th career victory, she struck out eight batters over five shutout innings in Arkansas’s 10-0 win over Auburn. This victory improved her season record to 11-2 and marked her fifteenth career shutout—tying her for fourth in program history with Katy Henry and Rachel Talley.
Herron also secured her third save of the season by pitching three scoreless innings in Monday night’s series finale, allowing just one hit and one walk while striking out two. This brought her career saves total to six, tying for seventh place in program history.
This is Herron’s second SEC Pitcher of the Week honor this season and third overall. She previously received the award on February 16 after notching fifteen strikeouts with no runs allowed during Arkansas’s undefeated showing at the States Up! Invitational.
Looking ahead, Arkansas will continue its conference schedule with a six-game road trip starting with a three-game series at Mississippi State from April 10 to April 12.
