The Southeastern Conference (SEC) has announced the opponents and sites for Arkansas Razorbacks football games from 2026 through 2029. The new schedule comes as the SEC moves to a nine-game conference format beginning in 2026.

Under this structure, each SEC team will play every other conference school at least once every two years and both home and away over a four-year period. The goal is to create what the conference describes as “the fairest and most balanced schedule in the history of the conference.”

Arkansas will have three annual opponents during these seasons: LSU, Missouri, and Texas. According to the announcement, Arkansas will host LSU and Missouri in 2026 and 2028, while Texas will visit Fayetteville in 2027 and 2029. Conversely, Arkansas will travel to face LSU and Missouri in odd-numbered years and play at Texas in even-numbered years.

The remainder of Arkansas’s SEC games each season will rotate among other league schools. The SEC will maintain its single-standings, non-divisional structure throughout this period.

“Annual opponents were determined with consideration given to traditional rivalries, competitive fairness, geography and alignment with existing non-conference home/away commitments,” according to the release. “Annual opponents will be evaluated after each four-year cycle to maintain continued competitive balance.”

The rotating portion of the schedule is designed so that every team plays all other conference teams at least once every two years—once at home and once away within a four-year span.

Scheduling was also influenced by efforts to provide each school with seven home games per season while balancing longstanding non-conference rivalry commitments such as Georgia–Georgia Tech or Florida–Florida State. The SEC noted that some teams may play at the same venue in consecutive years due to these scheduling priorities—a situation that has occurred before when formats changed.

With nine conference games on the slate each year, half of SEC schools will host five home games one season then alternate with four home games the next season.

The College Football Playoff (CFP) has recently updated its strength-of-schedule metric to place greater emphasis on contests against strong opponents. This adjustment rewards teams for defeating high-quality opposition while reducing penalties for losses against them. The addition of an extra SEC game is expected to improve strength-of-schedule metrics for all member schools, potentially enhancing their prospects for CFP selection.

Arkansas’s full list of future SEC matchups includes familiar rivals as well as rotating appearances by other top programs such as Alabama, Georgia, Auburn, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Texas A&M, and Florida across various seasons from 2026 through 2029.

Dates and times for individual matchups are set to be released later.

This marks the first meeting between Arkansas and Notre Dame; kickoff is scheduled for Saturday at 11 a.m., airing on ABC.
