Fayetteville High School issued the following announcement on Sept. 23.
The Fayetteville Board of Education voted unanimously to revise Policy: 1.19: Wearing Masks and Face Coverings and resume the mask requirement for all K-12 students, staff members, and visitors to school buildings. Masks are now required while attending classes, working or attending a school function in any school building, indoor facility, or other indoor area of a school campus; and when driving or riding in school-provided transportation. All FPS (Fayetteville Public Schools) employees and students must complete the self-screening questions listed below prior to reporting to school, entering a school building, or attending a school-sponsored function.
Have you experienced ANY of the currently known symptoms of COVID-19 below in the past 48 hours?
- Have you had a fever of 100.4°F or greater in the last two (2) days?
- Fever or chills
- Cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Fatigue
- Muscle or body aches
- Headache
- New loss of taste or smell
- Sore throat
- Congestion or runny nose
- Nausea or vomiting
- Diarrhea
If the answer is “yes” to any of the questions, do not come to school and contact your primary care physician. Families that have a positive case of COVID-19 or a probable close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 should complete the Fayetteville Public Schools COVID-19 Reporting form.
