St. Joseph Church – Fayetteville issued the following announcement on Jan. 2.
Prayer shawls are made by a team of St. Joseph parishioners who combine their love of knitting and crocheting with prayerful ministry and spiritual practice with the hope of reaching out to those in need of comfort and solace. We call our ministry Mary's Mantle. A prayer shawl may take many forms. It can be a shoulder wrap, lap blanket, child's blanket, or neck scarf. Many blessings are prayed into every stitch. When we meet, we begin with prayers and ask God's blessings on our handiwork that it may be a source of peace and strength and a reminder of God's unceasing love for the recipient. If you or a loved one has an upcoming medical procedure, is dealing with illness or recovery, is coping with bereavement, or experiencing times of stress, please stop by the church office and talk to Luz Morlet or call Sandy Weishaar at 479- 387-2195 about receiving a prayer shawl. If you would like to join our ministry, please give Sandy a call. Our next meeting is Saturday, January 8, at 10:00 a.m.
