City of Springdale issued the following announcement on Jan. 16.
The Civil Service commission met and interviewed candidates to replace Chief Mike Peters, who is retiring at the end of this month. After the interviews were complete the Civil Service Commission voted to promote Assistant Chief Frank Gamble to Chief of Police effective Feb 1, 2022.
Assistant Chief Frank Gamble began his career with the Springdale Police Department in August of 1998. He has worked in patrol and investigations before being promoted to Sergeant in September of 2007. As Assistant Chief Gamble climbed the ranks from Sergeant to Lieutenant and then Captain he has supervised all areas of the department. He was promoted to Assistant Chief in August of 2021 and will become the next Chief of Police effective on February 1, 2022.
