ARKANSAS: April New Faculty Lunch Discussion The Butterfly Effect: Concrete Teaching Strategies in Chaotic Times

Arkansas issued the following announcement on Mar. 28.

New faculty, please join us for this free lunch Tuesday, April 5, 12:30-1:45 p.m., or Wednesday, April 6, 12:00-1:15 p.m., at the Student Success Center, room 349.

As teacher fatigue continues to swell due to COVID-19, implementing new pedagogical strategies in our classes can feel like a daunting task. Writing about Chaos Theory, Terry Plachett and Neil Gaiman summarize, "The things that change the world . . . are the tiny things." Thus, during these unpredictable times, we find it helpful to "think small." This presentation, then, will focus on the little things we do on a day-to-day basis with the hope that they have a ripple effect in our students' educational experiences. We will cover simple, practical, and concrete ideas that are easy for anyone to implement. Presented by Matthew Spialek and Meredith Neville-Shepard, Department of Communication.

Click here to Reserve Your Seat OR Choose to Attend Remotely.

Please RSVP by Thursday, March 31, if you would like to order lunch.
