PRICEWATERHOUSECOOPERS (PWC): Observing the holy month of Ramadan

Ramadan

PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) issued the following announcement on April 6.

Ramadan Mubarak to those observing this holy month

Our people are the heart and soul of PwC, and through our Inclusion Networks we work to build community and connection. Specifically through our Inter-belief Inclusion Network, we help increase awareness and understanding of different faiths and beliefs — helping us to be allies, speak out against intolerance and hate, and stand up for religious inclusion. We are honored to co-lead the Muslim Inter-belief Inclusion Network, and share why the month of Ramadan is so meaninfgul to the Muslim community.

Ramadan is the most important month in the Islamic calendar. It’s a time for prayer, quiet reflection and self-discipline, as well as acting with generosity and charity. Fasting is also important. Each day throughout the month, the fast begins just before dawn and ends at sunset. During Ramadan, we both plan to take time for daily prayer and reflection. In Nadirah’s family, everyone will also wake for a pre-dawn meal (Suhoor) and end the day with breaking their fast together (Iftaar), often with Kuih Keria, a Malaysian sweet potato donut that is a favorite treat in their home. Farhad will also devote time to giving back to family, friends, and those in his community and break his fast by trying new and different foods.

Below, we invite you to learn how each member of the Muslim Inter-belief Inclusion Network Leadership Team at PwC personally observes Ramadan.
