A LOOK BACK: marks seven years since that terrible day, March 15, 2016, when deputies responded to a call of a suicidal person, and that person then ambushed WCSO Captain Tion Augustine, shooting him with a 12 gauge slug that shattered his hip.
We post this because (1) we are so thankful that Captain Augustine is still with us today, (2) it’s a reminder to all of us, once again, how dangerous this job really is, and (3) it reminds us how hard this profession is on the families of our law enforcement officers.
Our deputies respond to numerous calls just like this on a daily basis, never knowing if it will turn out the way this one did.
On this 7th anniversary, Captain Augustine continues to humbly serve the citizens of Washington County with dedication and his amazing, servants heart.
THANKFUL is our word of the day!
