Razorback basketball signees JJ Andrews and Abdou Toure have been named to two major high school player of the year watch lists. Both athletes are among 25 players on the 2026 Jersey Mike’s Naismith Trophy Boys’ High School Player of the Year Midseason Team and also appear on the MaxPreps National Player of the Year watch list.
JJ Andrews, who plays for Little Rock Christian, is ranked as the 11th-best high school prospect in the nation by ESPN and 247Sports. He is considered the top high school basketball player in Arkansas. Despite missing some games due to injury, Andrews has averaged 34 points, 16.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 2.1 steals per game this season. He was named a preseason third team MaxPreps All-American and previously earned titles such as Gatorade Arkansas Boys Basketball Player of the Year and Arkansas Democrat-Gazette All-Arkansas Preps Boys Player of the Year.
Abdou Toure attends Notre Dame High School in West Haven, Connecticut, and is ranked between 30th and 36th nationally by major recruiting services. Toure recently had a strong performance at the Hoophall Classic. This season he is averaging 28 points, eight rebounds, and 2.8 steals per game while shooting nearly 80 percent from the field and over 51 percent from three-point range. Toure has twice been named Connecticut MaxPreps Player of the Year and was selected as the 2025 Gatorade Connecticut Boys Basketball Player of the Year.
